I needed a shelf for my kitchen window above the sink. I bought the wood and everything. Sometimes I can be a bit thick. I've had this little bench for quite a long time and had never measured to see if it would fit over the sink. Sure enough it fits. Which means I have a lovely pine board to add to my wall shelving up in the craft room. COOL!
So here is the before pic:

Ordinary. Blah. So I grabbed one of my throwaway paperback books and started gluing paper. That took me about three days. It was worth it.

Then I varnished it with
Liquitex Matte Varnish. LOVE that stuff! Nice finish. Not at all sticky. I think my herb pots will like it there. I think I'll start with the chives, the
stevia, and maybe a small pot of green onions.

And they'll grow nicely right here in the south facing kitchen window. Like my box of Hungarian peppers? They're mighty hot!! And fabulous with my fresh tomatoes when I make my salsa. Yummy!

And my sink is even clean for the picture! How cool is that?
