Still doing digital, too

The last desktop calender that I did for DH's computer was in January! And it stayed there until I got motivated enough to do one for August. I used a combination of things from my kits and some things from Malacima's Altered Art kit. When I am stuck for ideas her kit gives me the push I need to get going again. I love it. She has many new things on her blog while I've been away and she is as good as ever.

Now, as far as this layout the background paper/fabric is mine, the vellum is mine and the button flower cluster is mine. The antique cards, the blank journal, the black ribbon, the newspaper stem and leaves and the frame stamp(around the photo) is Malacima's.

The journal was blank when I started. I extracted the blank page and did some digital paint splattering to it. Then I put the August calender over the colors. Then I played with the merged image of the journal page. I have a script that comes with PaintShopPro that is called Watercolor. It makes a really neat effect that looks like watercolor paint that has spread across the paper. It kind of looks like it dissolved some of the black ink of the calender numbers. Which is what would happen if you did this with real paints over freshly printed material. Cool.

Anyway, September is coming up and I have to go make a new calender for DH so he doesn't have to wait for another 6 months again. lol
