Doing a bit of digital drawing

I was in a bit of a mood for this calendar layout. Drifting between anger and apathy all day. But no matter the emotions I still love the red and gray together. So being in such a weird funk and having the deadline of August being almost over I needed some inspiration from other artists. So I used some of my scrapbooking stash that I've accumulated on my computer over the last couple of years. Now.... of course that was AFTER I had to walk away from my computer for a couple of hours because I had been sitting....STARING at the screen without a single idea for almost three hours yesterday. LOL

DD wanted to watch cartoons with her grandma so I decided to grab a random holder full of art magazines (Somerset Studio) and I went down to watch X-men. She really loves Wolverine.

While thumbing through my back issues I came upon one that was devoted entirely to black and white. That got me thinking of using a nontraditional photo for my layout. So I started to draw from a picture of DH and DD when we were sitting in the stands at the demolition derby at the fair two weeks ago. I had intended to do the whole black and white theme until I found an entire folder on my computer of red and black themed kits.

Crumpled and torn paper, old jean pocket, stuff that goes INTO the pocket...lol. And a really cool butterfly. This turned out well even if the only original artwork of mine is the drawing. Sometimes we all need to work with other people's ideas in order to stimulate our own creativity.

I'm going off now to sand the backgrounds away from some photos and do some doodles around a main subject or two.

Enjoy your day!!
