Wow!

And I don't mean the online game either! It has been snowing here for four days straight. It hasn't stopped except to catch a breath. We're supposed to continue getting snow for the next six days. And judging by the satellite pics...they just might be right for once.

*sigh*

I'm getting quite a workout shoveling snow, though. Unfortunately we won't be making it to DD's karate class this week.

I had to reschedule my dentist appointment. They called last night to confirm the appointment and I said I had to reschedule it since I don't drive in this kind of snow. My truck needs new tires. I can do without the weight in the back of the truck but with tires that aren't all that great I'm staying in when it snows like this. So the "lady" on the phone was irritated with me saying that I'd need to reschedule. Now mind you, the office is five miles north of us. They're getting the exact same snow that we are. I just know that this isn't the same lady who usually calls to confirm appointments. The usual lady is nice.

So it makes me wonder just exactly what this wench was thinking. I have to bring DD with me since I am a SAHM. Just what level of endangerment to my daughter's safety is OK with her? *sigh* This year the township sent out a notice that rather than raise our taxes they'd be salting the roads a bit less because the price of salt per ton went from around $40 to $65. That's quite a lot of money. I'm personally glad that the township officers are taking some responsibility and telling us ahead of time that in the interest of us citizens keeping our own money they're going to plow a little more and salt a little less. Fine with me. I stocked up with food all summer. I don't have to go out.

Oh well, when I do get to my appointment in two weeks I'll let the doctor know that the attitude was not appreciated. I'll never take my daughter out into dangerous weather and no amount of berating will change my mind. And the lady who normally calls, who is always at the desk when we go in and who just LOVES our DD, will be grateful that we didn't put our girl in danger.

I also suspect that a great many appointments will go unkept this week.

Did I mention that it's still snowing?

*sigh*
