I love discarded books

I have two sources for cigar boxes. One store sells them for $3 and the other sells them for $2. I got this huge box for $2. Actually I bought two and covered one with bright colored papers for DD to put her crayons in.

This one I covered with more pages from the Reader's Digest novel. I'm glad of it for two reasons one being that the story that I'm tearing up is absolutely wretched. The timeline of the story jumps between four generations of the same family. Just when you think you might be able to understand what the heck is going on then the timeline switches to another generation. And it isn't even a science fiction story. Just family melodrama. *yuck*

So now I have a terrific box to keep my unfinished board books in. Yes, I know. I just ended that sentence with a preposition. It's 2am. Sue me. LOL

Here's my funky layout showing the before and after of this box. I love it. I hope I find more of these boxes whenever I can manage to get out of the driveway in between snowstorms.

Love that box. We have a bunch of readers digest novels that are completely falling apart. I think I might have to steal that idea :o)

Awesome. I love how the paper from those books looks like newsprint and you can do anything with it from inking to painting. FAB! Now when do we get to see the pics of the fantastic playing around you did at the New Year? The foil tape and the pearl ex and the stamps.....show us the project! (I have some I am working on right now too...)
